You have to love a realtor with a sense of humor. Which Jay has. When it’s combined with focus, energy, knowledge and an eye to the end game…. Jay has all of those skills as well. He also understood why we wanted (needed) to move. He took that into account and started the pursuit of a buyer. He coached us through the preparation of our house for sale. The sales information and the exquisite flyer he crafted were a big part of the successful sale. His check-ins with us were reassuring. Because of his skill and his humor and his professional approach, our house sold after the first Open House.

We were referred to Jay when we made the decision to move to Washington from out of state. He helped us narrowing down our search area and then spent many hours with us when we came to visit the area and tour homes. Through the entire process Jay was very responsive and professional. Jay has a very laid-back, easy-going personality and made the whole process very easy. Jay worked well with the selling agent and got answers to our questions in a very timely manner. Jay Reilly is an excellent Real Estate Broker. In the Summer of 2022, as the market was falling, Jay was diligent in helping us sell our home in anyway possible. Jay had an Open House every weekend. He gave us some recommendations on how to 'stage the house' which was very helpful. He upgraded the photos on our Zillow site. Jay is a great communicator and our 'cheerleader' when we began to despair about our home sale. In the end, we did not get as much as we originally thought our home would bring, but after all it was a down turn market and feel we recieved a fair offer. Jay did everything possible and far above what a typical Agent would do. What made this whole experience the best is Jay is light hearted and has a fun sense of humor. I would highly recommend Jay to anyone.

Jay was one of the first people I met and got to know when we moved to Bellingham in 2005. Jay acted as our selling agent for 2 homes and as buyer's agent for 1. What stands out for me is his attention to detail. His experience in the industry has given him the knowledge of all the things that can go wrong in a deal, and he works tirelessly to mitigate the risks of those things happening, as well as communicate the status of those things. It doesn't matter whether it's inspection, financing, contingencies, competition, or even individual personalities and circumstances - if there is risk of these things impacting a deal, he'll find a way to help reduce or eliminate that risk. His experience in the local marketplace also means he knows everyone - including tradespeople, title companies, financers and investors, landscapers, handymen, other realtors, etc. There is no substitute for someone familiar with the local market. We are very grateful to Jay for all he has done for us.

Jay has a great network of contractors and he was able to line-up many of them (around 8+) on short notice for different projects we planned to prepare my property to go on-market. This was invaluable. As a first-time home seller, there were processes I was unfamiliar with and Jay was patient at explaining with strategic input. As a seller living 90 miles south of the subject property, this meant Jay was hands-on and over there all the time to keep moving a multi-month project forward. Jay was poised during a sale that yielded a fair share of twists and turns; it was challenging and even stressful at times. Lastly, Jay was my buying agent for this property more than 16 years earlier. He was at service throughout this time period of ownership to provide ongoing real estate guidance when issues would arise.

As a first-time seller, I did not realize how valuable Jay's work ethic and stepping up on things I did not an agent would do. Jay actively helped us prepare our home for sale. He patiently spent a lot of time with us understanding our needs and discussing our plan. He was open to different ideas and added valuable inputs. Jay was able to find contractors and landscapers on short notices, and helped us to maintain our house in a great condition during the time when we were not in town. Jay is amazing - he helped us locate the ideal house, navigate (and win) a multiple offer buy, referred us to the best lender for our situation, and wrap up the entire deal in record time!! Jay helped us buy our house in 2017 and we had such a great experience with him then that we did not hesitate to ask for his help when we needed to sell the same house in 2019. Jay is a very efficient, patient and savvy real estate professional. In both situations, buying and selling, we were pressed to act fast, and Jay made sure our needs were met in every way, both times. We couldn't have asked for a better partner in selling our home. Jay worked with us for over two years, as we tested the waters on the sale of home and explored the market to find a new home. We were not sure we wanted to sell at first and he was so patient as navigated the market and our busy personal life. Everything was at our pace. He was always honest and available. When a new house came on the market that we wanted to look at, he was very responsive and again patient as we went back and viewed several homes, numerous times. When it came time to sell and purchase our new home, there were many challenges along the way, but Jay was there to work on behalf the entire way. He spent many days texting and on the phone with us, as we got over each hurdle during the process. I would highly recommend Jay and would 100% have him as our realtor if we bought/sold again. Most importantly he has become a good friend over the many, many years we have known him and that friendship never interfered with the business side.
