Wild Horse Island is a protected wilderness preserve managed by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. Overnight camping is prohibited, and any large groups require a permit. Visit the FWP website for details for rules and accessing the island.

The Wild Horse Marina, 15 minutes north of downtown Polson, 40 minutes from Kalispell/Glacier International Airport, and just over an hour from Glacier National Park, requires a permit for parking. Do not park at the marina without authorization.
