Introduction and Personal History
I have always loved to help people and feel that my real estate experience has helped expand my circle of friends and knowledge. Continuous learning is a way of life for me, which has led me to what I know today. I grew up just West of Darrington, on Swede Heaven Road. I later moved to Mount Vernon for a couple of years to attend college while I worked as a middle school tutor in Oceanography and Algebra during the week and working at Hampton Lumber Mill on the weekends. I later married Bruce Blacker and we are now raising our two children. Our recent ventures have included growing Wild Edge Woods where Bruce specializes in rough cut wooden beams, renovating Old Darrington City Hall and raising a small herd of beef cows.
Education
I attended Darrington High and also received college credits from Northwest Indian College for painting of murals for the Suak Suiattle Long House Project. From there, I went onto Skagit Valley College and received my Associate of Arts Degree. I continued onto Columbia College of Missouri, where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Human Resourses. I plan to become a certified arborist also due to my interests in horticulture and timber management.
