About Scott

With more than 25 years of experience, Scott Monroe is the face of the West Seattle real estate market, and a well-respected agent known throughout greater Seattle. There aren’t many brokers who are more adept at tackling the complexities of ever-changing markets, or with stronger track records of success. His background in construction and depth of industry knowledge are an effective combination for sellers and buyers alike.

Raised by a builder, Scott grew up on construction sites and gained an invaluable “hands-on” education. His naturally curious disposition and thirst for understanding the “why” behind how things work sparked a life-long passion for building.

After graduating from high school early and spending time at the University of Alaska-Anchorage, Scott found he was better equipped to continue on a job site rather than sit in a classroom. He spent the next dozen years working in construction, project management and cost estimating for commercial and residential companies in Alaska, Washington, and Japan.

While he was enjoying his professional building career, a friend recommended he try his hand in real estate. Scott joined Windermere, quickly realizing his background in construction and excellent negotiation skills made him a natural fit. Plus, his gifts for straight talk, advocacy and strategic thinking afforded him an opportunity to help clients make impactful real estate decisions.

Scott’s unique skillsets set him apart from other agents. Some might say it’s an unfair advantage, but buyers and sellers continuously sing his praise as he helps them navigate the murky waters of real estate. They appreciate his wisdom and conversational style as he assesses homes, recommends cost-effective solutions, advises on strategies to maximize returns, and guides them to success in a competitive landscape.

More than 700 transactions later, Scott is still going strong and loves what he does. He recognizes that for most people, buying or selling a home is the largest financial decision in their life and he truly believes helping clients is an honor and privilege. For each client, Scott aims to do something extraordinary and unexpected. He believes delivering “above and beyond” is the most effective marketing strategy. And this approach has paid off with nearly all his clients coming from referrals.

Scott has a managing broker designation, is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and resides in Shorewood on the Sound. He is married with three grown children and an adorable grandson, who keeps him young at heart. When not working or with family, you can find Scott on the tennis courts or playing music.
