How I Approach my Work

I've always worked primarily with home sellers, though I enjoy working with home buyers as well - especially first-time home buyers. I love seeing my clients on their way to the financial independence that home ownerhsip can offer. After all, everyone purchases a home, it's just that renters purchase homes for their landlords.

I like to understand the data behind market forces. I trust my gut, but I think it's pretty irresponsible to quote a price off the top of my head without doing the research. I know how the market can fluctuate, just like a boat on the water, and how quickly the deck can shift under your feet.

But data is only part of the equation. Never, ever, ever underestimate how emotional the process of buying or selling a home can be! Being sensitive to the underlying need behind those emotions is key if I'm going to negotiate on my clients' behalf. My job is to hear and to understand, and to then calmly and professionally work to achieve your goals. Calm is a super power.

I think of myself as an advisor and a limited-use attorney. My responsibility is to act in my clients' best interests, to keep our conversations confidential, and to understand, inside out and backwards, the contracts the state provides for us to use. I want my clients to be able to make educated decisions - to understand the process, the strategies, and the costs involved in buying or selling their home. The more you know, the easier it is to make good decisions for your situation and the less unnecessary stress you'll have.

I believe that Kindness Pays. My good reputation within the real estate community directly benefits my clients - when other agents look forward to working with me they also look forward to working with my clients. It occasionally gets rough along the way, but my goal is always to have a happy and contented seller and a happy and contented buyer by the time we reach the closing table. Win-win.

Buying and selling a home can be life-changing. I know real estate, my clients know their lives. Together we can make those life-changing dreams come true.

My History

Fred and I worked together selling real estate in the Salt Lake valley for over 30 years. I have taught pre-licensing classes in Agency and Marketing for Stringham Real Estate School. I've been ranked in the top 500 agents for volume of sales in the Salt Lake Board of Realtors since 2005. In 2015 I was ranked 33rd for the number of closed sales in Salt Lake and Davis Counties, combined. I've received the Hall of Fame award from the Salt Lake Board of Realtors for sales performance, industry and government affairs service, and commitment to education.
