Listed and sold a home
Dorothy was our listing agent for our South Seattle property in Spring of 2021. She was recommended to us by a neighbor who had also worked with her to sell his property few years prior. He couldn’t say enough good things about her, so we gave her a call. We’re so glad we did.Dorothy is incredibly knowledgeable about South Seattle, its markets, and unique issues like septic systems. For example, she supported us in finding a septic contractor and helped us negotiate county septic red-tape that was needed to get our septic system functional and up to code. Incidentally, her assistance in this process came a couple of years before we ended up listing the house on the market—she put in hours and hours of work for us well before we were officially working with her. This is the kind of person she is. She pays it forward. She also knows the South Seattle market incredibly well, and can gauge a good time to list and knows the comps for determining a competitive listing price.Dorothy knows the right people. She has connections to all the right people in her field, like her partner Don, who she collaborates very closely with (and who helped us innumerable times with questions about electrical issues with our new place once we closed. He’s another great find). She has countless well-established agent relationships. She also has connections to multiple folks like painters, cleaners, roofers and the like. And her connections for the marketing phase of the process (for folks like stagers and photographers) really paid off for us. Our house was staged beautifully and marketed so well that we had a really great turnout for the open house, and received multiple offers. She's detail-oriented and has amazing follow-through. Dorothy is incredibly thorough, and she works tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything goes smoothly. I mean this—everything. She knows her stuff when it comes to getting a house under contract, and if there’s a form that isn’t signed quite correctly, or something needs doing to ensure complete compliance, she’s there making sure it happens. I mentioned this to her one time, that I felt like she carried the process so smoothly behind the scenes—for me it translated into a significantly less stressful journey from listing to closing. Trust—We developed such a trust in her vast knowledge and skills around all parts of this selling process. Everything from helping us prep the house for sale, to staging and marketing, to reviewing and understanding offers, to finally accepting an offer. She is a savvy realtor who knows how to navigate the complex process of selling a house. Her 43 years of experience really shows. I mentioned it above, but she knows her stuff, and she knows people who also know their stuff, and the marriage of those two things meant that we had such confidence during what can be an incredibly stressful process.Final note—Dorothy is just such a great person, too. She’s someone you want to know after the process is all over. That says a lot. We really can’t say enough good things about her. Go with Dorothy. You won’t regret it. She’s truly amazing at what she does.
