Our Commitment to change
Windermere strives to address inequality in homeownership and to grow our company into a more diverse organization that better reflects the communities we serve. As a part of our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we’ve launched several initiatives to drive change within Windermere and the real estate industry.
We developed Restrictive Covenant Modification Forms to inform homeowners about how to have racist language removed from their home’s title.
We established a partnership with HomeSight that provides financing to Black first-time home buyers, who have historically been underserved by traditional lenders.
We launched an internship program with the University of Washington for students of color who are interested in learning about career opportunities in real estate.
We hired a Vice President of Diversity who is charged with advancing Windermere’s DEI efforts and supporting our offices with their DEI strategies, planning, and programs.
We formed a recruiting program to attract new agents who are people of color to Windermere and aid in their success through mentoring and financial support.
Through our work we hope to play a role in finding ways to correct the long history of housing discrimination in our country while making real estate a more equitable industry to be a part of.
