#YourStoryIsOurStory: Kicking off the School Year Right
Starting the school year can be nerve wracking; new friends, new classroom, and for some, a new school all together. Imagine starting the new year already behind, with shoes that don’t fit, clothes that are stained or too small, and inadequate school supplies. Many Windermere offices work very hard at the start of the school year to ensure this doesn’t happen for kids in our communities…
The Windermere Foundation Wildfire Fund
The Windermere Foundation is now accepting donations to support the families that have been affected by wildfires. One hundred percent of the funds designated to the Windermere Foundation Wildfire Fund will go to local organizations that are providing immediate assistance to those who are affected by the fires.
No Child Should Have to Sleep Outside
Homeless families live in the shadows. They can’t apply for temporary housing if they are staying with friends. They must be sleeping in a shelter or on the street to apply. Most of the emergency shelters available in Seattle are gender specific and require that married couples or parents and children split up. For many, the only other choice is to sleep in their car, a tent, or a public bathroom.

Together, we are making a difference
According to the latest national census, more than 46.2 million people in the United States live in poverty. For the past 23 years, the Windermere Foundation has been dedicated to helping these low-income and homeless families, but in these tough times, the organizations and families we support need more help.
