It has been about 35 years now since I left my career in international transportation to become a Realtor and be my own boss. I wanted to run a business with integrity and ethics and execute a business in which I was rewarded and compensated for my wins and had the ability to correct things that came up quickly.

My business quickly doubled each of the first four years by word of mouth from happy clients and holding open houses. The majority of the same clients I served in 1992, I am still in touch with today. I have helped some families as many as eight times now. Or am helping their grown children or helping them navigate downsizing their parents and selling their family homes. It is all deeply personal to me to be honored with their trust. My business is 98% repeat and referral based.

When Covid hit Seattle, and the City initially shut down, I wisely took on a younger partner to do much of the operational side of the business. Nahjeen Shirazi-Wu turned out to be just what I needed. Whip smart, with a great work ethic and the same integrity. She understood that I came with a reputation for doing things by the book and absolutely no short cuts. She not only understood but appreciated that about me. I have always said you can teach this business to most people but you cannot instill integrity, ethics and attention to detail. Usually by the end of a client's second meeting with Nahjeen, they totally get why she was my choice.

Seattle was hit with the first Covid case, January 21, 2020. Nahjeen and I are about to have our 6th work anniversary. We both feel extremely fortunate. We are able to prioritize our clients but also have a great work life balance so we can serve our people even better.

The reason that I hang my license at Windermere is their commitment to excellence and being a standard bearer in our industry. I was honored to serve as the Chairperson of the Windermere Standards of Practices Committee for over 6 years. It was a deeply rewarding experience for me.
