A little about Bill

One of my greatest rewards is educating my clients of the current market climate so they can make the best decisions in achieving their real estate goals.  As a former PGA golf instructor and elementary school teacher, education has always been a passion of mine.  Since 2007, I’ve been guiding my clients, both buyers and sellers, so they can make the best financial decisions for their real estate needs, from the initial client consultation all the way to closing and passing over of keys. I enjoy counseling my clients on what to expect throughout the home buying/selling process, assisting my sellers in preparing their homes to obtain a maximum return on investment, and negotiating for my buyers so they can obtain the home of their dreams at a price and terms that work for them.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending my spare time exploring the Oregon Coast with my wife, playing a round of golf now and then with clients and friends, and getting my hands dirty in my garden.  After travelling throughout much of the country, I feel so fortunate to call Portland and the great Northwest “home.”

A little about Alex

I think an “about me” section can only start with emphasizing what I find to be the crux of my real estate practice: to truly act in the best interest of my clients. This is the entire concept of agency, of “fiduciary duty”, and I think that focusing on this really streamlines real estate into a rewarding and meaningful career. 10 years into the profession, I still feel a genuine thrill when I can provide something valuable – whether through negotiation, advice, or simply attentive listening – and I’m so gratified that I’m able to take that hard-won experience and put it into action for my clients. I am an introvert in an extrovert’s business, and I initially worried this would hold me back. As I’ve moved forward, though, I’ve really grown to appreciate how the qualities that stem from that trait – attention to detail, observation, knowing how to really hear someone – have helped me grow as a professional and have lent me more tools with which to assist my clients.

As befits an introvert, when I’m not working – although, as they say, a real estate agent is always working a little! – I enjoy hanging out at home with my wife, dog, and two cats. I also a little bit of a table tennis addict, as I try to play several times a week at one of Portland’s local clubs. As a born-and-raised Portlander, I also like exploring the city and finding something new in a little hidden corner, whether that’s a new restaurant or a quiet little park I’ve not visited before. I do truly love this city, and it's also wonderful to have real estate as an avenue to share that affection!

What Others are Saying...

"Before marketing our home, we consulted several agents for advice on how to best prepare our house for sale. Bill and Alex went far beyond the rest in research and giving specific recommendations. Bill is both tactful and honest in giving his opinions. He was a positive and reassuring guide when the "shelter in place" orders came just as we were ready to sell. He was extremely helpful in the negotiations when we had an offer. We were in frequent contact throughout the process of completing the sale. Bill and his colleagues are flexible, responsive and great communicators - truly a professional team."

"In August I was appointed Personal Representative of an estate in the Happy Valley area. As I live in Idaho, I had to find an exceptional Real Estate agent that I could totally trust so I called my brother in Oregon City to get a referral and he suggested I contact Bill Grange at Windermere. The result was that I discovered the best Real Estate agent I have ever met and in finding a new friend. I used to be a Realtor so I know what constitutes excellence in this profession. Bill handled the entire sale from beginning to end with professionalism and expertise. He had some great ideas for the house and contacted all the workman to repair the things that might affect the sale. When I called or e-mailed, which was frequent, he always answered or got back to me quickly. Bill went above and beyond all my expectations and made the sale of this home a truly pleasant experience. Would I recommend Bill Grange? I would never have anybody else."

"As first time home buyers, Bill (and Alex) were indispensable to helping guide us through the process. Bill went above and beyond throughout: explaining every step in detail, staying up late into the night to get an offer in, picking us up for rides to appointments, negotiating through various situations. We are extremely happy with our new home. Bill was instrumental in making it happen for us."
