Agents in Mukilteo Office Give of Their Time....Every Month!

Posted in Events and News from the Foundation by Christine Wood

Windermere Mukilteo ‘Kid’s at the YMCA’ happens every month!

A group of agents from the Mukilteo Washington office has made participating with the Y-Kids a priority for the last four years. On the third Tuesday of every month, a dedicated group of agent-volunteers meet at Challenger Elementary school to assist the Y’s ‘After-School Daycare program. The program has between 15 and 30 kids from Kindergarten through 5th grade. The Mukilteo agents meet at the school and participate right alongside the kids in their after-school activities. Time is spent on everything from helping the kids with their homework to assisting them as the Y leaders teach the kids about many subjects. Subjects covered include table manners, science, arts, crafts... and of course playtime! Even the agents love to play four-square or shoot hoops.

Over the course of these four years we have really gotten to know the kids; many have been in the program for that long. It seems the kids have enjoyed getting to know us too. When we show up every month…we usually get some BIG hugs!

We have chosen this as a valuable way for our agents to make an impact with the kids in our community.
