A Call for Continued Action

Posted in News from the Foundation by Christine Wood

Greetings from the Windermere Foundation,

Twelve days after the massive earthquake struck Haiti, donors have contributed more than $470 million to 39 U.S. non profit groups, according the The Chronicles of Philanthropy. That is AMAZING! While donations are slowing just 2 weeks after the disaster, the need is still obviously huge. Thankfully, some organizations, concerned with this trend of slowed donations, are deciding to ladder their financial suppport and aid to help ensure Haiti receives continued support through the rebuilding process. Good idea! If you haven't donated to the relief efforts and are considering doing so, please remember - it's never too late to donate! Haiti will need help for many, many years - long after media coverage slows and eventually stops.
