Bringing Food and Warmth to Those in Need

We hope you and yours are having a wonderful holiday season! This time of year is a busy one for our offices, as many are working with local organizations to support families who need a little extra help during the winter months. Below are some examples of how Windermere offices throughout the Western U.S. are giving back to their local communities through the Windermere Foundation. If you are looking to find some good ways to give back, contact your local Windermere office to learn more about how they’re helping those in need this holiday season.


On Saturday, December 8, the Windermere Green Lake office in Seattle, WA is hosting a 2012 Pathway of Lights party and food drive to benefit various Green Lake community food banks. If you would like to donate, please drop off your non-perishable items at the office at 7300 E Green Lake Dr N, Seattle, WA 98115. For information, please call (206) 957-9441.

The Windermere Lynne French & Associates office in Clayton, CA is hosting a holiday food drive for the Contra Costa & Solano Food Bank. Last year they collected over 2,500 pounds of food and are aiming to exceed that this year. Please drop off your non-perishable items to the office bin at 6200 Center Street, Suite E, Clayton, CA 94517 by December 13th, or call (925) 673-2188 for more information.

The Windermere/C and H Properties offices in Hawaii are now collecting donations for the First Annual Menehune Holiday Food Drive, benefitting The Food Basket, Hawaii Island’s Food Bank. On December 15, donations will be collected from Windermere’s Kona and Waimea offices, as well as from local businesses and organizations. Later that evening, donations will also be collected during the Kona Christmas Parade. For more information, please call the Kona office at (808) 329-2601 or the Waimea office at (808) 885-6044.

The Windermere Mount Baker office in Seattle, WA is conducting a food drive for the Rainier Valley Food Bank now through the end of the year. They will be delivering the donations to the food bank on a weekly basis. If you’d like to help out, please call (206) 725-7255 and they can pick up your donation, or you can drop it off at the office at 4919 S Genesee St, Seattle, WA 98118.

During the month of September, the Windermere Alderwood, Windermere Edmonds, Windermere Everett South, Windermere Granite Falls, Windermere Lake Stevens, Windermere North, Windermere Real Estate in Marysville, Windermere Mill Creek Town Center, Windermere Real Estate/NW, Inc., and Windermere Mukilteo offices collected close to  50,000 pounds of food  during the 2012 Snohomish County Realtors Food Drive.

The Windermere West Sound - Kingston office in Kingston, WA held a food drive through November 19th for the local food bank.



The Windermere Issaquah office in Issaquah, WA is holding a clothing drive for Eastside Baby Corner. They are collecting clothing for sizes infant to size 16, shoes, diapers, baby food, and children’s books. From now until December 17, you can drop off your donations at the office at 1810 15th Place NW, Suite 100, Issaquah, WA 98027. For more information, please call (425) 392-6600.

Windermere offices throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington are hosting their annual "Share the Warmth" coat and blanket drive, now through December 19. Offices are collecting coats and blankets Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (unless otherwise noted). Drop your donations off at one of the following Windermere offices: Bridgeport Realty, Portland NE - 39th, Lake Oswego, Lake Oswego-West, Lloyd Tower, Portland-North, Portland-NW Johnson, Portland Heights, Raleigh Hills, Portland-Sunset Corridor, West Linn, Portland-Westmoreland, Gearhart, Cannon Beach, Bend, Prineville, Redmond, Vancouver-Officers Row, Seal Rock, and Charbonneau.

The Windermere Real Estate/NW Inc. office in Monroe, WA is holding its second annual winter clothing drive for Take the Next Step—a drop-in and networking center for homeless and those in need of assistance in the local community and Snohomish Valley area. The following items are most in need:  coats, gloves, hats, tents, tarps, non-perishable food, socks, diapers, and personal hygiene items. They plan to collect and deliver the items before December 25. For more information, please call (425) 508-4078.

The Windermere Seattle-Lakeview office in Seattle, WA held a Fall Clothing Drive October 10 through November 9 to benefit local families through Saint Vincent de Paul.

The Windermere Vancouver-Officers Row office in Vancouver, WA donated funds to the Hazel Dell Elementary “Coats for Kids” program.

The Windermere Eagle Point and Shady Cove offices in Oregon donated their time and support to the KDRV NewsWatch 12 Coats for Kids Campaign.

On November 16, the Windermere Whidbey Island-Oak Harbor office in Oak Harbor, WA held its third annual Johnny Bulldog concert to benefit the Windermere Foundation. Funds raised helped local charities, which included purchasing new coats for each child living at Marjie’s House through Operation Warm Winter.

The Windermere offices at Coeur d’Alene, Hayden Lake, and Post Falls recently collected donations for their Boots and Socks program. Over $14,500 was donated to this program, providing warm boots and socks to 549 local kids in need.

The Windermere Gearhart office in Gearhart, OR donated $1,000 to The Assistance League of the Columbia Pacific. The funds will be used to help provide suitable school clothing for children in need.
