Dan's service to the community, past and present, includes: Past Chairman Northwest District Association Planning Committee Member of the Portland Historical Landmarks Commission (Actively promoted and was successful in placing NW Portland's Alphabet District on the National Register of Historic Places.) Past Chairman the Oregon Real Estate Board, formally Certified by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to market historically significant properties Board member of the Bosco Milligan Foundation Past board member of the Northwest Service Center (and worked to save this Historic Landmark for continued neighborhood use). In May 2011 the team assisted in launching the first annual Chapman Home Tour, where 100 percent of the proceeds went toward the school's arts and education programs. Since that time, Dan, Burdean, Kishra and Mardi have worked with The NW Children's Theater and School and The NW Neighborhood Cultural Center producing yearly neighborhood walking tours where all the proceeds go to helping with the restoration of the NNCC.
