- Two-Tier Deck
One of the owners' favorite things about this house is its deck. They LIVE outside during Seattle's series of uncharacteristically long, hot summers.
Double doors from the living and dining rooms open to the upper deck.
- Spacious enough for intimate dinner parties...
- Sun yourself in privacy
- Grill a porterhouse in the open air
- The lower deck serves the private guest quarters below

Wonderfully landscaped mature, private grounds abound.
These steps lead to the 3-car off-street parking pad.

- The lower yard is level and receives wonderful south light. Great for gardening and patio escapades. Private too!
- Off-Street Parking
A spacious, three-car off-street parking pad exists off Howe Street. The fourth space is shared between neighbors.

- Steps To...
You aren't just buying the house, you're buying the neighborhood and lifestyle. Here's a peek at what you're in for...
Enjoy the Japanese Garden, part of the Arboretum.
- Cafe Lago: The Seattle Weekly says, "It’s one of the only Italian places left in the city that actually makes each and every noodle by hand: fresh fettuccine, tossed with sautéed pancetta and California asparagus in a spicy tomato sauce; ravioli, filled with ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan and topped with a swirl of pesto; and the tenderest potato gnocchi you’ve had in ages, served in an electric-orange sauce of tomatoes, cream, and vodka. Other popular items include a delicate lasagna, a grilled New York topped with Gorgonzola, and a handful of wood-fired pizza pies that are, as the song goes, amore. Well over a decade old, and with a staff that seems to borrow heavily from the university, the place expanded dramatically two years ago to a size that just barely allows them to accommodate the nightly crowds. Still, don’t be surprised to find a wait at nine o’clock on, say, a Tuesday. Mercifully, they have a bar."

- Montlake Ale House: The Seattle Post-Intelligencer says, "Montlake Ale House, the sibling of Madrona Eatery & Ale House, opened last fall in the former Grady's Grillhouse space. It's not that this casual, family-friendly pub and restaurant isn't a worthy destination in and of itself. Prices are reasonable. Service is good-natured and efficient. Children are welcome -- very welcome. It's more that the area is not exactly welcoming for those who arrive in cars. Street parking is zoned, finite and requires patience and skill. Once a spot is secured, the natural impulse is to maximize one's visit -- hence, the allure of Cafe Lago, a true Seattle destination restaurant. Then again, Montlake Ale House possesses one unique feature its lauded neighbor doesn't: a carpeted sunken play area for kids. In the back of the restaurant, there's a play pit, littered with toys and well-worn books, encircled by a dining bar where folks can sip, eat and -- literally -- oversee their tots. The play area and nearby fireplace are the pub's most charming elements. I especially love that the pit's carpeting serves two purposes: protecting little knees and absorbing little shrieks. "

- Seattle Public Library makeover: Coming "late 2006": Graham Contracting Ltd. began work on Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, on the new Montlake Branch, a 5,652-square-foot facility that will replace the tiny 1,574-square-foot storefront branch that has served the community since 1944. The new brick and cedar-clad branch at 2234 E. McGraw St. will have an updated and expanded collection capacity of 18,700 books and materials, more seats and computers, a meeting room, and parking for 13 vehicles. A plaza will provide outdoor gathering spaces for patrons.

- For years, the owners of 2219 E. Howe Street have played "Stump Mont's". They've only been able to come up with one item in six years that Mont's Market DIDN'T carry!
- Bill & Pookie
I'm Pookie. When you stop by, I'll likely be mid-nap somewhere. It's okay if I go outside or inside...
- And I'm Bill. Yes, Bill. Ditto to what Pookie said...
