Education & Certifications
John graduated from Michigan State University in 2000 with degrees in Accounting and Construction management. He is a Certified Public Accountant, an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Salt Lake Home Builders Association and is a Licensed Real Estate Agent in Utah and North Carolina.
Experience & Volunteer Work
John began his career on a path that is unique among his real estate peers. Having earned one of his Bachelor degrees in Accounting, and the other in Construction Management, John’s initial career goal was to complement his natural love of real estate and homebuilding with a strong foundation in business and finance. The best way to do this, he felt, was to join a Big 10 accounting firm within the auditing practice. Thus, in 2000 he accepted a position with a public accounting firm in Detroit, Michigan where he gained extensive public accounting experience. John quickly found himself intrigued by the opportunity to combine both his CPA credential and his extensive construction background, in the world of national homebuilding. Thus, when offered an internal finance position with one of the largest national homebuilders in 2002, he jumped at the chance. Recognized as a high-potential individual, in 2003, John’s career took a leap in responsibility when he was promoted to Controller and then quickly to Vice President – Finance in one of the company’s most profitable Divisions. Between the years of 2003 and 2010 John excelled in various operational rolls throughout the homebuilding industry.
Seeking to further his career and compliment a strong aptitude for large volume real estate transactions, John entered the world of residential and commercial real estate in December of 2010. Since that time he has successfully focused on transactions ranging from several hundred thousand to several million. While John maintains an advanced aptitude for big transactions, he's also very quick to admit that he gains the most enjoyment by helping everyday individuals pursue the American dream by buying or selling a home of their own.
