I began my real estate career in 1971 here in Skagit County. In those days we "specialized" in whatever we could list or sell - and learned a lot about real estate as a result. In 1977 I started David James Realty with a partner, and assumed sole ownership in 1980. We were a strong and successful independent company, and for twelve years we passed on franchise offers from the national companies.

Then, in 1989, we found a truly different company and jumped at the chance to become a Windermere affiliate. Windermere's philosophy and business style were - and are - a match for ours, with emphasis on quality service, strong agent support, and high ethical standards. Windermere Real Estate/Skagit Valley has, since our start in 1977, been a market leader in the measures of production that define a successful business. More importantly, we have a whole office full of agents who enjoy their work, and an ever-growing list of happy customers as a result. That is our best measure of success.
