I have enjoyed a 28-year career as a professional Realtor, Designated Broker and Owner with Windermere in Spokane, which has allowed me the opportunity to train and mentor many wonderful real estate professionals, provide real estate services in particular for commercial properties and Premier Properties, and give back to the Spokane community. Having grown up in Spokane, I have extensive knowledge and familiarity with many of the great homes and neighborhoods of our community, and as a business owner, I’ve enjoyed collaborating with the institutions and leaders that continue to shape Spokane into the growing and thriving community it is.

Prior to joining Windermere, I retired from a career in the film industry, serving as the General Manager of Skywalker Sound, the Post Production Division of Lucas Arts Entertainment Company. I assisted with the building of the 100,000 square foot post production facility at Skywalker Ranch, and establishing the creative staff and studios as a premier Academy Award winning facility. In addition to managing the sound post production for Lucasfilm productions, I was responsible for marketing the facility to outside films, studios, producers and directors, as well as managing productions and the facility personnel.

In 1972, I was accepted to the first class of girls at St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire, a school that had been renown for 125 years as a premier preparatory school for boys. Upon graduating with honors from St. Paul's, Cate received her Bachelor in Music degree from the School for the Arts at Boston University, having pursued piano, harpsichord, composition, and business.

I strongly believe in giving back to the community, and have enjoyed volunteering in many different ways over the years I received the Governor’s appointment to serve as a Real Estate Commissioner from 2006 to 2018 for the state of Washington, and was chair of the Changing Business Practices subcommittee. I am currently a Trustee for the League of American Orchestras, Vice President of the Spokane Symphony Endowment, and past President of the Board of Trustees for The Spokane Symphony Orchestra. In addition, I served as Chair for the search committees of both the Music Director and Executive Director of the Spokane Symphony, and have held the position of Trustee for St. George's School, the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture and the Spokane Opera.

My finest achievement in life is having shared 37 wonderful years with my husband, Peter, and raising our two beautiful daughters, both of whom are pursuing their passions in life.
